Notes about the kids

The other day Preston was getting cranky because he was tired so Jeremiah said,"Preston is having a melt down" and he replied with, "I'm not having a melt down I'm having a break down!" We got a kick out of that.

We love how Justin has to nod with his eyebrows while he nods his head to say yes.

We had just gotten home and Justin told me he wanted to go to the park. Then I realized he meant our backyard, it was cute. They all love their new play set.

Justin loves to pretend he is Preston and I am Natalie and she is Mommy, Preston is Daddy and Daddy is Justin.

Touch-A-Truck

We went to this event last year and had a great time so we are making it a tradition. They have a bunch of trucks that the kids can explore and even honk their horns.(ambulance, tow truck, Walmart truck, cement truck, fire truck, construction trucks, etc)

Mr. David

They had this super funny guy perform at the library. The kids were cracking up, I'd definitely go to it again. He had puppets, played instruments, did drawings, and was just really silly. In one part of his show he asked the audience to list off some countries and Natalie raised her hand and said Pennsylvania. It was cute and he just went with it.

Ouch

First playset, first black eye, poor Justin. Natalie wanted to push him on the swing but of coarse he wanted me to do it so we got mad and started pushing the glider and somehow pushed it in front of him and he swung right into it. I'm glad he didn't also fall off the swing. He screamed for a while but I finally calmed him down and put a movie on for him while I put ice on it. It was really swollen and is getting darker every day. We were worried that he hurt his eye so we covered the other eye and made sure he could still see.
After having the ice on for a while he said, "no more bo-bo". I'm glad he felt better. In the morning it hurt again and seemed to be more swollen, making him close his eye a little. Then it started getting better. We went to a farewell party for a professor that is moving and everyone commented on his "black eye" which was worse than the injury itself. He got really worried and said to me, "Mom, I'm okay". When we got home I showed him his eye in the mirror so he could understand what people were talking about.

Hurray, it's done!

The guys showed up finally and finished assembling the play set in one long day(from 9-8pm). Jeremiah was so glad to not be doing it. They were suppose to come the day before but didn't show up and didn't call until 11am. We got the kids ready for bed and as soon as they were done we let them play for a while.

Hair Cuts

Justin and I went to get our haircuts together. He's always so good. He just gets a little ticklish when they try to buzz the back. I wasn't sure if he'd be good enough to wait for me to get mine cut as well but I just went for it. With a lollipop, games on my phone, and some books he lasted for a while. Towards the end he started to run around and get into the saloon's hair products that were for sale. So I didn't get my hair fully dried but I got it cut!

Can't wait

So the guys delivered that playset but couldn't install it for another week. The kids couldn't wait, so I came up with the idea of using the slide on the deck. It worked wonderfully!

Father's Day

Natalie insisted on giving Dad breakfast in bed. He likes to get up and get going so he got ready for church and then got back in bed. We made him biscuits and gravy, his favorite. And a card that played a swing song "go Daddy go". After church we gave him his presents. A kindle, a Bocce set, and a hat(which unfortunately didn't fit)

We attempted to go on a walk in the woods but it didn't go well. We were talking about the "Going on a Bear Hunt" Book right before and it freaked Natalie out. She was terrified and screaming. I myself get nervous being deep in a forest so it worked out great for me that she didn't like it :) Plus there were a ton of annoying bugs.

Since that didn't work out we went to the arboretum to walk around, it is so beautiful, I love all the flowers. It's right across the street from Jeremiah's building.

Busy Saturday

There are always tons of things to do on a Saturday. This day we started off with a family bike ride to park, then we went to the Spring Creek Festival at the Millbrook Marsh, followed by am evening at Bald Eagle State Park with the Langstons. I don't think we could of packed any more fun in!

Date Night

Jeremiah and I went to Tussey Mtn. to ride to Go Karts. It was so funny seeing all the characters in the cars. We felt young as we raced around but old as we were cautious not to get bumped. Afterwards we had dinner at Outback since we had a gift card, yum! I love their Coconut Shrimp!

3-D

Our library has a ton of cool events. Here we are at a 3-D movie by National Geographic about Sea Monsters. At least that's what I think it was about. Natalie got scared right when it started so we left and read books. The boys loved it. It was at night so we took them in their PJs.

Finally

Getting a play set for our backyard has been quite the process. We were happy when we finally got our ground leveled.

Strawberry Jam

All the kids helped me make Strawberry jam. I hope it lasts me through the winter, I have a bunch in the freezer. I love it! The kids used to like Jam but not so much anymore. They always want honey instead. I've been craving this jam ever since Wendy Basil gave me one of her containers of it because she was moving and didn't want it to go to waste.
