Ride???

We left San Diego on Dec. 30th and didn't arrive to NC until 12:30am. it was late and everyone was tired and all we wanted to do was to get home to our beds. Unfortunately we discovered that our ride wasn't showing up. After calling them multiple times without any answer we decided to look for a taxi. So 2 taxis and $90 later we got home. I was worried that something happened to these acquaintances of ours because how can you forget to pick up a family of 5 in the middle of the night, especially after sending a couple of reminder e-mails(even thought they insisted that they wouldn't need a reminder). The next morning they called to make sure we got home okay and to apologize because they simply forgot. Sure I'm glad nothing happened to them but it was sure a lesson in forgiveness for me. They did feel bad, they brought us dinner that night and offered to pay for half of the taxi fare(which we decided not to accept). I'm just grateful that they had taxis there(even though none of them could fit us so we had to take 2) and that we had money. Next time we'll be asking a close friend for a ride, someone we know is reliable!
